The Acorn Studio ("we," "our," or "us") operates Piiman. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our application.

We collect minimal data. Piiman is designed with privacy as a core principle.

• Recipe & Meal Plan Data: The recipes you import or edit and the meals you plan are stored with your account so they remain available across sessions.
• Recipe Source Data: When you import a recipe, the source link and available recipe text, captions, or transcript are processed to identify ingredients and cooking steps.
• Usage Analytics: We collect privacy-safe product events about the recipe import process to improve reliability. Recipe content, source links, account IDs, and email addresses are excluded from analytics.
• Diagnostic Data: Privacy-safe error and performance diagnostics may be collected to help us detect failures and improve app stability.
• Account Information: Piiman creates an anonymous guest account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we store the Apple-linked account identifiers and any email address Apple provides so you can protect and restore your account. Piiman does not request or store a profile name.

The limited information we collect is used to:

• Provide and maintain the app's functionality
• Manage your account
• Respond to your support requests
• Improve the app based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns

We use industry-standard security measures to protect any data associated with Piiman. Where possible, data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms.

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: For anonymous accounts, Sign in with Apple account linking, and secure storage of recipes and meal plans.
• OpenAI: For extracting structured recipe details and calculating nutrition information from recipe evidence.
• Supadata: For retrieving captions or transcripts from supported social video links when recipe details are incomplete.
• PostHog: For pseudonymous product analytics using an allowlist that excludes recipe content and direct account identifiers.
• Sentry: For privacy-safe error reporting and performance diagnostics.
• Sign in with Apple: For optionally protecting a guest account and restoring access on another device.

Piiman is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data
• Opt out of any analytics (if applicable)
